About

UCI’s Office of Civic Engagement is a unit of the Division of Undergraduate Education under the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning. We offer an academic minor and two dynamic academic and experiential internship programs.

The Civic and Community Engagement Minor is an exciting interdisciplinary program that provides students with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to engage as citizens and community members in the 21st century. Students enrolled in the program will receive training on how to meaningfully improve individual, community, and societal outcomes. Open to all UCI students, the Civic and Community Engagement Minor serves as a supplement to students’ major expertise and offers a greater breadth of experiences for personal growth and public good.

The UC Washington, D.C. (UCDC) and UC Center Sacramento (UCCS) internship programs are also offered by our office. UCDC is offered as an academic internship program during Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters. There is also a non-academic, full-time internship experience offered in the summer. The UC Center Sacramento (UCCS) academic internship program, located in Sacramento, is offered during Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters.
